Preliminary Directions for Minecraft blanket
Directions
for Minecraft blanket class
Fabric
Needed For Steve Quilt: 5 ft of any fleece of your choice for the
back of the blanket, Black 2/3 yard, Brown 1/3 yard, preferred
background color (I used green) 1 yard, flesh 2/3 yard, Blue 6
inches.
Fabric
needed for Creeper Quilt: 5 ft of any fleece of your choice for the
back of the blanket, ½ yard black cotton fabric, 1 yard preferred
green, ½ yard lighter shade green, ½ yard darker shade green. (The
different greens make up the color pallet of the creeper's face that
copy Minecraft's game aesthetic. You can get more then three shades
of green if you prefer, or only have one shade of green and keep it
simple. Your green fabric must add up to 2 yards total.)
- Cut your fabric into 6 inch squares. Stack according to color into piles.
- Lay out fabric on top of fleece following the directions below depending on the design you chose. If you run out of time, feel free to roll up your project until you can come back to it. The fleece will hold your quilt squares in place!

- Start
sewing your rows together with a straight stitch. Be mindful of the
order. When you finish the row, put it back down on the fleece and
start the next row.
- Once
you have sewn all the horizontal rows together, start sewing each
strip to the one below it. Try to line up the seams so the squares
line up perfectly.
- Put
the fleece and the quilt together with the outer faces of the
blanket facing inward and against each other. Sew along the border
of the two pieces with a zigzag stitch stopping a foot before you
close the perimeter of the blanket.
-
Reach
inside the pocket and grab the corners, pulling the blanket inside
out and exposing the correct side. Use your fingers to adjust the
quilt so that it lays flat against the fleece.
- Hand sew the last foot of the border using a hidden stitch.
Enjoy your new blanket!
